The Geologists as Detectives: Earth's History
 You are going to hunt for clues that will reveal Life's Origin and History on Earth.
Earth was developed about 4.6 billion years ago by accumulation of rock, dust and gases. There are preserve clues that will help you unravel the mystery of our changing planet, its environment and development of terrestrial life. Similarly, as a detective hunts for clues to a crime, you will play the role of geologists and locate, observe and interpret clues in the Earths rock. As you study the Geologic History and Generalized Bedrock Geology of New York State you will learn the importance of the scientific principles and processes. Additionally, role playing strategy will increase your interest in Earth Science, and as you unravel this mystery, the use of problem solving techniques will develop higher order thinking skills. You will use various principles and correlation to reveal happenings in the Earths structure since its origin. These activities will encourage interaction as you exchange ideas and develop individual accountability, social skills and effective planning.
